Mikroe RS485 5 Click
Mikroe RS485 5 Click is equipped with the Maxim Integrated MAX485 low-power, slew-rate-limited transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communication. The Mikroe RS485 5 Click supports half-duplex RS-485 communication. The board acts as an interface between the TTL-level UART and the RS485 communication bus. The Click has low power consumption and reduced slew-rate drivers that minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improperly terminated cables. Error-free data transmission up to 250kbps is supported. The RS485 5 Click is ideal for EMI-sensitive applications, like industrial-control local area networks, building automation, HVAC systems, and more.
Features
- MAX485 low-power transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 communication onboard
- 120µA and 500µA supply current drawn by the transceiver when unloaded or fully loaded with disabled drivers
- Driver is short-circuit current limited and protected against excessive power dissipation by thermal shutdown circuitry
- The receiver input has a fail-safe feature that guarantees a logic-high output if the input is open circuit
- GPIO and UART interfaces
