Eaton Electrical Proximity Sensors

Eaton Electrical Proximity Sensors include a range of inductive and capacitive proximity sensors. Inductive sensors are immune to dirt, grease, and other adverse conditions. These proximity sensors can detect metallic targets through non-metallic barriers and lightweight or small objects that are undetectable by mechanical limit switches. Eaton capacitive proximity sensors detect both metallic and nonmetallic targets. These capacitive sensors are ideal for liquid level control and sensing powdered or granulated material.

Features

  • Inductive
    • Immune to dirty and greasy adverse environmental conditions
    • Detects lightweight or small objects that mechanical limit switches cannot detect
    • High switching rate for rapid response to object counting application
    • Can detect metallic targets through non-metallic barriers (such as glass and plastic)
    • Long operational life with virtually unlimited operating cycles
    • Solid-state output provides a "bounce-free" contact input signal to solid-state logic devices
  • Capacitive
    • Detect plastics and other nonmetallic targets, liquids, powders, and other materials that are difficult or impossible to detect with other sensor types
    • Plastic body is corrosion-resistant
    • Sensitivity adjustment allows tuning for each application
    • Output indicator LED assists in commissioning and troubleshooting
